19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

It is his first title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court since March of the previous year.

Success also means he has won 21 titles at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's counter-punching play style and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

But the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.

He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

Moutet defended 4 early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
